CP Yayaha Abubakar took over from Sunmonu Abdulmaliki who retired after clocking mandatory 35 years of retired in the service of the Police Force.
At a maiden press briefing today in Damaturu, the new CP promised to sustained the peace in the state through collaboration with other security agencies and also come up with new strategies of crime management in the state after a content analysis of crime situation in the state based on the statistics he has received from his brief.
“I have already received proper briefings from my predecessor, as well as the Command’s operational and tactical commanders on the security situation in the State. I want to assure the good people of Yobe State that we shall continue to collaborate with other security agencies, especially officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, to ensure that the existing relative peace and security in the state is not only sustained, but also strengthened and improved.
“In the coming days, I intend to carry out a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the crime situation in the State, based on the crime statistics as captured by the Command’s Operations Department and the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB). The outcome of the analysis will form basis for the development and implementation of new strategies for crime management and public safety in the State”, CP Abubakar said.
